Cancer: Advances in Treatment

June 12, 2017

There is never a good time to hear the words, you have cancer but a cancer diagnosis today is different from one a decade ago. Through research we are discovering new screening methods, understanding more about cancer growth and developing new and more precise treatments. These discoveries allow difficult cancers to be treated in ways that were not possible previously offering hope to many battling this disease.

Join Dr. Mohit Kasibhatla, a radiation oncologist with Hayworth Cancer Center, a service of UNC Hospitals as he presents information on the benefit of new precision guided treatment options such as Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT) and Stereotactic Radiation Surgery (SRS) that offer potentially fewer side effects with greater success than traditional therapies for eligible cancers.
