Breast Cancer Awareness: Know Your Risk
High Point, NC — With October come the signs and smells of fall; football games, leaves changing colors and the wonderful smells of pumpkin and spice. It is also a time for us to stop and remember that breast health is very important for the women in our lives. The American Cancer Society and your doctor recommend it and friends and family will “oh so gently” remind you – get your mammogram! But when to begin mammograms and how often have been much debated making it all a bit confusing. Dr. Van Fletcher with UNC Regional Physicians Gynecology and Lynne Norris, RN will discuss the risk associated with developing breast cancer and also identify individuals that may have a genetic risk.
It is important to know and understand you and your family’s risk. Being proactive for your own breast health can significantly impact not only your future health, but also the future health of your family members.
Early detection, prevention and awareness can be lifesaving!
Join Dr. Van Fletcher and Lynne Norris, RN for a discussion about breast cancer risk and screening.
