Are You Stone Prone? What You Should Know About Kidney Stones
HIGH POINT, NC — Kidney stones are small "pebbles" of salt and mineral in the urine. The most common symptom is severe pain. They can be as small as grains of sand or as large as golf balls. They may stay in the kidneys or travel out of the body through the urinary tract. Most stones pass on-their-own, but medical procedures may be used to remove them.
Is there anything that can be done to prevent kidney stones from forming? If a person is prone to kidney stones are there changes in diet and exercise that can help? For those that have had kidney stones understanding potential preventative measures can be very reassuring.
Join Dr. Chip Duckett with High Point Medical Center Urology as he presents information on kidney stone symptoms, treatment and prevention.
