Hospital United Way Campaign Results
Setting the pace for the rest of United Way of Greater High Point’s company campaigns, High Point Regional Health System celebrated another successful campaign, again exceeding their goal.
The hospital campaign steering committee shared the announcement with chairman Greg Taylor, MD, of a $170,820.32 total as of the start of the campaign Celebration on Thursday. The committee had set a goal of $160,000.
Health system CEO, Jeff Miller, had promised to dance a jig if the goal was met, and he did not disappoint. Miller received a standing ovation from the employees and guests for his vigorous performance of an Irish jig that honored his ancestry.
The campaign theme of “Dancing for What Matters” inspired dance troops led by each vice president, with the four finalists chosen by employee votes and performing for judges from the Hi-Toms baseball team. The winning troop called the Funky Freestylers, led by CFO Bob Duncan, received a score of a perfect 10 and took the first place trophy.
VP of Operations, Page Redpath led the employee team raising the most money for the campaign, and also accepted a trophy.
