High Point Regional Ranked As One of State’s Best In Heart Care
HIGH POINT, NC – High Point Regional Hospital is listed as one of North Carolina’s best hospitals in heart care by Business North Carolina in the March 2004 edition of the magazine.
The magazine lists the top 10 North Carolina hospitals in heart care in alphabetical order.
High Point Regional Hospital is home to Carolina Regional Heart Center, a five-story, 132,000 square-foot facility opened in 2001. The heart center houses the cardiac catheterization laboratory; non-invasive cardiac testing; a medically directed fitness center; the cardiac rehab program; and clinic offices for cardiologists and thoracic surgeons.
The top 10 ranking is based on complications, mortality while in hospital, and mortality at one and six months after release, for seven procedures such as bypass surgery and angioplasty. The information is provided by Heath Grades Inc.
“The distinction is an honor for the entire cardiology staff,” states Dr. Zan Tyson, Medical Director of the heart center and President of Carolina Cardiology Associates. “Our heart center has made a commitment to provide high quality care with the most caring staff, the newest treatments and the most advanced equipment.”
