Entry fee for the 5K is $20 before Sept. 1 and $25 up to the day of the race. The fee for the Fun Run is $5. Race day festivities include heart healthy food, music, and prizes in all age groups. T-shirts are guaranteed to the first 350 5K entries.
The Warren Rives 5K Run/Walk & Fun Run are named in honor of Warren J. Rives Jr., a generous supporter of the High Point community. He died of a heart attack at age 41. His family established the Rives Trust Fund through High Point Regional to ensure cardiac awareness and rehabilitation for others. The Heart Strides scholarship program was one of the first in the nation to assist patients who are not financially able to participate in cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation.
