MRI and Open MRI

MRI, or Magnetic Resonance Imaging, is a powerful innovation in diagnostic imaging. Its special qualities enable a trained radiologist to see the inner workings of the human body. MRI scans offer extraordinary detail, speedy diagnosis and are safe and painless. High Point Regional is proud to have both the traditional short bore MRI and one of the only open MRI scanners in the area. The open MRI is especially convenient for larger patients, small children or patients who suffer from claustrophobia.

MRI scans are conducted only with a doctor's order, so if your doctor tells you that you need an MRI, remember to ask for your appointment to be made at High Point Regional for convenience and flexibility that you won't find elsewhere.

Prior to your appointment time, you should park in the patient and visitor parking deck and sign in at our outpatient registration desk, located just inside the Patient Entrance (see campus map for more detail). Our staff will take care of everything else.
