Strides Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program
Scholarship Programs
Two special events have been created to raise money for
the sole purpose of assisting patients with the costs of
the Heart Strides program to serve high Point, Greensboro,
and Winston-Salem.
Bud Kivett Memorial Golf Tournament
This event is the High Point City Tournament named after
Bud Kivett, a local golf champion who tragically died of
heart disease. The tournament is held each spring at Oak
Hollow and Blair Park Golf Courses.
The event features:
• A three-day event, Friday Sponsor Day & Saturday/Sunday
individual tournament.
• Trophies, prizes and drawings available to golfers.
• Prestige of being either the Sponsor Day Championship
Team or the Individual City Tournament
Winner.
Sponsorship opportunities are available
at a variety of levels, most of which include:
• A four-man team on sponsor day.
• Catered lunch.
• Prizes.
• Massages/games/health screenings.
• Custom signage.
The two-day city tournament is reasonably priced and open
to the first 216 golfers. Volunteer & sponsorship opportunities
are also available.
Warren Rives 5K Run, Walk and Fun
Run
This event was named after Warren J. Rives, a strong and
energetic supporter of the High Point community who died
of heart disease at age 41. The annual event is held on
a Saturday morning in the fall and is open to anyone wishing
to participate.
The event includes:
• A one-mile Fun Run.
• A 5K (3.2 mile) Run.
• Pre- & post-race activities, health screens,
massages, food, entertainment.
• Awards ceremony, door prizes, kids corner.
Sponsorship opportunities available
for the Rives 5K include:
• Name recognition in ads, sponsor flyer in runner
bags.
• Custom signage along race course.
• Sponsor recognition on race t-shirt.
