Golf
Fitness
The mechanics of golf are quite
unique, requiring the human body to go through an array of
distinctive movements. The golf swing is such that the
requirements to produce effective outcomes are dependent upon
the body’s ability to perform relatively extreme and
explosive-type movements. These often are done by individuals
who are ill prepared for the activity resulting in swing faults,
poor performance, and an increased risk of both acute and
chronic injury.
To address this, The Fitness Center at High Point Regional
Health System has put together a unique GOLF
FITNESS program designed to assess
and improve golf-specific muscular strength, flexibility,
and balance. In doing so, your body will be able to swing
the golf club more efficiently and effectively. These are
not skill sessions and will not attempt to teach the golf
swing. This is strictly an exercise program to help
the individual perform a better swing by enhancing the respective
musculoskeletal components.
