The Self-Management Concept High Point Regional Health System is dedicated to providing quality and comprehensive diabetes health care to High Point, Greensboro and Winston-Salem. Diabetes self-management is the process of providing knowledge and skills to assist with day-to-day living. If changes in emotional or physical status occur, needs can be met. The American Diabetes Association established national standards with specific educational criteria. These are the criteria the Diabetes Self Care Management Center educators provide the participants. Participants in a self-management program have been found to have less emergency room visits, hospitalizations and medication costs.
