Meet Our Physicians
Bernard Chinnasami, MD
Dr. Chinnasami earned his medical degree from Madras Medical College in Chennai, India. He completed his internship and residency at Polyclinic Medical Center in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Dr. Chinnasami completed a fellowship program in hematology and oncology at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. He is board certified in hematology and oncology. Dr. Chinnasami serves as the Medical Director of the Hayworth Cancer Center, and is also President and Medical Director of the nonprofit Guide Posts of Strength organization.
Vallathucherry (V.C.) Harish, MD
Dr. Harish earned his medical degree from Madras University in Chennai, India. He completed an internship at the State University of New York and his residency at North Manchester General Hospital, Royal Oldham Hospital, in the United Kingdom. Dr. Harish completed a fellowship program in hematology and oncology at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. He is board-certified in hematology and oncology. Dr. Harish is active as a Principal Investigator on numerous medical oncology clinical trials and serves as the Hayworth Cancer Center’s Cancer Liaison Physician to the American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer. Dr. Harish has a special interest in genitourinary cancers.
Jason Huff, MD
Dr. Huff received his medical degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He went on to complete an internship, residency year, and fellowship in hematology and oncology at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. He is board certified in hematology and oncology. Before coming to High Point, Dr. Huff was on staff at Penrose Cancer Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Dr. Huff is active as a Principal Investigator on numerous medical oncology clinical trials and serves as the Hayworth Cancer Center’s Community Leader for the Southeast Cancer Control Consortium. Dr. Huff has a special interest in GI malignancies.
George Sanders, MD
Dr. Sanders received his medical degree from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, where he also completed his residency. Dr. Sanders completed a fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is board certified in hematology and oncology. Before coming to High Point, Dr. Sanders was an active cancer clinical researcher at University of Alabama. He has continued his involvement in research, serving as Principal Investigator on numerous medical oncology clinical trials. Dr. Sanders has a special interest in lung cancer.
Susan Williford, MD
Dr. Williford graduated from Wake Forest University Bowman Gray School of Medicine, where she also completed her internship, residency, and fellowship in hematology and oncology. She is board certified in hematology and oncology. Dr. Williford is a co-chair of the Breast Leadership Committee at the Hayworth Cancer Center. She has a special interest in caring for breast cancer patients.

They collaborate with our team of specialists to bring you quality care, close to home. Patients who choose the Hayworth Cancer Center as their cancer care provider can rest assure they will receive the most comprehensive, individualized care available anywhere. Through a unique partnership between physician practices and High Point Regional, a specialized Oncology CARE Team assesses each patient’s unique needs and provides needed resources, education and guidance. The CARE Team is available to the patient and their family in all treatment settings, whether inpatient, outpatient or physicians’ offices.
