The Hayworth Cancer Center is designed with cancer patients and their families in mind—not only providing the latest in technologies, but also ensuring an environment that promotes healing and wellness.
This begins with making it easy to find the cancer services you need. Here, patients receive inpatient treatments and symptom management, outpatient chemotherapy, radiation oncology, and access to a full array of support programs and personnel -- all under one roof.
Guests are welcomed by a meditation labyrinth and the peaceful sounds of the Fountain of Hope. Outpatient chemotherapy
is provided within Cornerstone Hematology/Oncology's offices on the 2nd floor, where patient treatment chairs offer a view of the Healing Gardens. Additional outpatient infusion services are available in the 3rd floor High Point Regional chemotherapy unit. Here chemotherapy and transfusion
patients can visit the sun balcony or the meditation room while receiving treatments from our experienced chemotherapy nurses.
The 1st floor of the Hayworth Cancer Center is home to an array of state-of-the-art cancer diagnostic and treatment technologies. There you will find the PET/CT
suite, two linear accelerators providing Image Guided Radiation Therapy
(IGRT) , Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy
(IMRT), and Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy
(SBRT) treatments, a High Dose Radiation
(HDR) suite, and a treatment planning and simulation suite.
Should you require hospitalization, the 3rd floor 17-bed Oncology Care Unit provides a full range of inpatient services with care delivered by chemotherapy-trained, oncology-certified nurses
. Oversized private patient rooms offer recliners, desks, comfortable sleeping accommodations for caregivers, as well as in-room mini refrigerators and wireless internet service. Gatherings are welcomed in the unit's Family Lounge with its full-service kitchen, dining room, television, and aquarium.
Current patients, caregivers, and survivors are regular visitors to the Thomas Resource Center, located immediately inside the main Cancer Center entrance. Here the coffee is always hot and your reception always warm. Printed information on different cancers, treatment options, supportive care and survivorship, along with our monthly Oncology Support Newsletter
, are available at no charge. The Center's computers are available for locating additional information or checking personal e-mail. A customer-service representative or volunteer will guide your search. A variety of support groups
and survivor activities
meet in the Resource Center.
