I went to see my doctor in October 2005 for a regular physical and at that time found out that my blood pressure was quite high. I guess that’s why they call hypertension the silent killer because I had no symptoms and I felt great. I was told by a co-worker who was an aerobics instructor at HPRHS that I could work out with her for free at the employee gym. I started two days a week with resistance training, step aerobics, keeping a journal of what I was eating and lost approximately ten pounds those first three weeks. I’ve continue to work out and I’ve increased to three days a week at 5:30 a.m. I feel so much better and my BP has been maintained at great numbers. I dropped another seven pounds and I’ve maintained the same weight for the last four years. I’m so glad that HPRHS offers the luxury of having a FREE employee gym that not only I can go to but my spouse as well. Thanks HPRHS for caring about your employee’s health.
