Heart Strides
Heart disease is America’s #1 killer among men and women. Pulmonary disease, just behind cardiac conditions in seriousness, is also on the rise and can have severe effects. Cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation treatment is essential to improve a patient’s quality of life and to help prevent future attacks.

High Point Regional Health System believes in helping all patients on the road to recovery, but some patients are unable to afford this life-extending treatment. For that reason, the Heart Strides scholarship fund provides financial assistance. Gifts to Heart Strides go directly to heart and lung patients for scholarships to the rehab program. All gifts are 100 percent tax-deductible. Any gift may be made in honor of or in memory of someone.

Rives Trust

In 1990, Warren Rives, Jr., died unexpectedly of a heart attack at the age of 41. He was serving on the Hospital Board of Trustees at the time of his death, the youngest person ever to do so. His family set up a special trust in his memory to fund educational needs for Heart Strides Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab. Proceeds are used to equip the Heart Strides program with diagnostic and monitoring equipment, as well as nutritional and lifestyle education materials—all to benefit patients recovering from heart events.

Please consider joining the Rives family and others who have contributed to this very worthy endeavor—and help provide the best of care to those who need it most.
