Mountain Golf Trip?? - (Journal Date: 4/11/05)
Each year I organize a golf trip to the North Carolina mountains for sixteen (16) golfers. Unfortunately, the golf trip always lands on the same weekend as the local Relay for Life. I decided in February that the Relay for Life was going to be more important this year. The tenth annual Mountain Golf Trip was postponed, perhaps to the fall of 2005.
I haven't played much golf this spring because of so many other priorities. However, I have been out recently and followed the doctor's advise to not hit any fat shots. With Chemo No. 3 right around the corner, I joined some friends and golf students to take in a round at the local Oak Hollow course. To my surprise I carded a 72 with two penalty shots in the water. Enjoyed a great spring day with friends and really took in the sounds of nature...of course its easy to enjoy yourself when you shoot par. Maybe there are some side effects of chemotherapy that are beneficial for my game!!!
