3 months Post-Op
Well tomorrow marks 3 months since I have had surgery. I am down 58 lbs. I need to make my doctor’s appointment for my check-up. There is no doubt in my mind that everything will be just fine. I feel great and am following all the vitamins/supplements etc. I have added biotin to my supplement list, for hair loss. I have noticed a little more hair loss than normal, so just taking precautions.
We had our trip to San Antonio, and it was a lot of fun. We usually stay two weeks, and this time we stayed about 2-1/2 days in Houston and 7 days in San Antonio. I think it is much better this way. There wasn’t a lot of down time where I ate. I did eat more frequently than normal but portions were still small but great. Texans cook different than we do in Georgia…or at least my in-laws do. I ate Mexican food at least once a day for all meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner. It was awesome. I would get two breakfast tacos and eat half of each over a 30 minute time period, wrap them up eat the leftovers later. I definitely enjoyed the food aspect of my trip. The road trip part was pretty good too. I usually chose between chicken breast sandwiches and just got it with a little mayo and did the bottom of bun, Wendy’s chili or their fruit cups. It was fine. I chewed lots of gum, which kept the need for the munchies at bay.
I went tubing down the Guadalupe River while we were there. We had a blast. It was a little crazy at times, the river was running pretty fast cause of all the rain they have had in Texas. I don’t know if I would have done that had I not lost so much weight. I guess that qualifies as my first adventure since surgery. I plan on having many more since I love stuff like that and I have not done much of anything like that most of my adult life because of my weight. I want to go White Water Rafting next summer and possibly start water skiing again. I plan on acting like a complete kid for the next couple of years despite the fact that I will be turning 37 this year. You only live once, why not, especially since I feel like my life has been on “PAUSE” for the last 15 years or so! Not anymore!
