“What You Need To Know About Diabetes”
A Free Community Screening and Education Event
High Point, NC — Did you know over 26 million Americans have diabetes? Diabetes is the seventh leading cause of death in the United States and approximately one third of people with diabetes do not know they have it. In addition, up to 79 million adults may have pre-diabetes which puts them at greater risk to develop the disease. Left untreated, diabetes can lead to a host of other health problems, including heart disease, blindness, kidney disease, stroke, amputation and even death.
Join Monica Doerr, MD for an educational seminar on diabetes awareness and prevention. Prior to the seminar, participants will also be able to participate in a free glucose screening and have the opportunity to discuss their results with a clinician. Registration is required.
