Loveline - 2011 Recap and 2012 Happenings
LoveLine, High Point Regional’s cancer patient support program, has offered a wide variety of services to patients for many years. Because of this program, cancer patients and their families have access to financial assistance to meet short-term critical needs that are not covered by other resources. Funding for this incredible program comes solely from donations made by individuals, organizations, and businesses in the High Point community.
In 2011 alone, the LoveLine program received over $86,000 from individual donors and businesses in the High Point Community to assist with medication, medical supplies, nutrition, and other approved expenses. Many of these donations were made in honor or in memory of a loved one, and a large portion of them were given during the Annual Tree-Lighting Ceremony, which occurs every December.
Over 300 individuals took place in the December Tree-Lighting event at the Hayworth Cancer Center to honor and remember their loved ones, as well as celebrate the hope that High Point Regional offers to so many cancer patients. The Tree-Lighting Ceremony itself raised over $59,000. Sponsors of the event received a beautiful, personalized leaf on the Tree of Life donor wall located in the family waiting room in the Hayworth Cancer Center.
Donations to the LoveLine Fund are welcome at any time of the year. Not only are they the perfect way to honor, remember, celebrate, and recognize those who are special to you, but they provide hope to cancer patients when they need it the most.
We invite you to save the date for the 2012 LoveLine Tree-Lighting Ceremony on Thursday, December 13, 2012 and to consider making a donation to LoveLine the next time you wish to remember or recognize someone special. For more information, call 336-878-6293.
