Local Stroke Story Wins AP Award
4/26/2006
A FOX8 feature story educating viewers on how to identify a stroke, that included interviews from physicians, patients and staff at High Point Regional Health System, was recently honored at the annual North Carolina Associated Press Broadcast Meeting as “Best Health Report.”
The segment was produced by Jeff Varner, weekend anchor with the FOX station serving Central North Carolina, WGHP, who also won an individual award.
The health system now uses the segment as an education tool about the warning signs of an occurring stroke.
