GREENSBORO, N.C – Jan. 22, 2007 - The Tar Heel Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) on Thursday, January 18 awarded local public relations professionals with top honors in the PR field. In a members-only event at the Greensboro Downtown Marriott, the PRSA 25th Anniversary Spinks Awards and Banquet featured presentations for excellence in the practice of public relations for 2006. The Spinks, named for local public relations pioneer and chapter founder John Spinks, celebrated 25 years of recognizing the best of the best in the field. The banquet featured keynote speaker Dr. Nido Qubein. Qubein, noted author, motivational speaker and president of High Point University, praised the important role PR plays in the success of today’s top organizations and noted its contribution to the ongoing success at HPU. Emcee Rick Amme of Rick Amme & Associates hosted the event.

Eric Fletcher, MBA, APR, of High Point Regional Health System was honored with the Leadership Award, given to an outstanding role model in the PR profession. His work included serving as APR (Accreditation in Public Relations) chair where he coached and mentored candidates into APR certification.
