High Point Medical Center’s Volunteer Department is Looking for New Volunteers to Join Their Team!
High Point, NC — Are you looking for a way to give back and make a difference in your community? Then become a High Point Medical Center volunteer!
High Point Medical Center volunteers are trained and equipped with the knowledge and support to excel at their volunteer placement. Each volunteer area allows you to develop a passion for your job and a comradery with other volunteers, hospital staff and patients that will last a lifetime.
Volunteers are needed to serve patients and their families at High Point Medical Center. Currently, some of our most crucial needs include:
Pet Visitation: A visit from a canine volunteer can lift the spirits of our sick and lonely patients and promote healing. Our employees love the visits as much as the patients. Dogs should be at least one year old and should have completed an obedience training session.
Patient Visitation: The hospital can be a very lonely place, especially for patients who have no family members in the area. Patient visitation volunteers visit with hospital patients that could use a friendly face or words of encouragement and provide assistance to nursing staff.
Emergency Department: A visit to the emergency department can be a frightening and confusing time for patients and families. Compassionate emergency department volunteers provide a calm and caring environment that can help reduce anxiety.
Department Assistants: Do you enjoy duties that are more “behind the scenes?” If so, this is the perfect volunteer position for you! Our department assistant volunteers help with light office duties such as answering phones, filing, copying and running errands. These volunteers may work inside the hospital or at one of our physician offices.
In addition to the crucial opportunities listed above, Volunteer Services has multiple volunteer placements throughout our organization that would be perfect for you!
