High Point Medical Center’s Emergency Department Launches Telemedicine Program
High Point, NC — High Point Medical Center’s Emergency Department is pleased to announce the launch of a complete telemedicine solution enabling patients to undergo a consultation with specialists remotely - leading to faster diagnosis and treatment for our patients.
Our new telemedicine solution will enable physicians and specialists in the Emergency Department at High Point Medical Center to conduct remote consults with two-way audiovisual, clinical data and medical imaging, all from an iPad, laptop or desktop computer. The system will allow a remote doctor from the North Carolina Jaycee Burn Center to coordinate patient care in real-time leading to improved quality and decreased decision-making time.
Many medical solutions have been developed over the years, which benefit both patients and hospitals with limited access to funding. One of those is telemedicine, which allows physicians to cross physical barriers, instantly eliminate distance, and facilitate vital communication between medical staff and patients, all while maintaining financial sustainability.
Our telemedicine solution provided by InTouch Health is a comprehensive clinical solution extending far beyond just the placement of reliable equipment and high quality connectivity.
Our telemedicine program at the High Point Medical Center Emergency Department will:
- Provide 24/7 immediate access to a burn specialist
- Reduce unnecessary hospital admissions by consulting with high-risk patients remotely
- Allow you to keep patients in their communities
- Transfer only those patients that are appropriate for higher level intervention
- Gain advanced access to a network of shared resources, including education, training and best practices
We look forward to this advancement in telemedicine and are proud to provide 24/7 expert care to our patients, as well as critical acute-care expertise to life and death situations.
