High Point Regional Receives Cancer Program Commendation

The Cancer Center at High Point Regional Health System has received the overall rating of a “Three-year Approval with Commendation” from the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer.
The Three-year with Commendation is awarded when the program complies with all standards and receives a commendation rating for one or more of the eligible standards.
Commendation areas covered all standards surveyed, including outcomes analysis, American Joint Commission on Cancer staging (used for treatment plans) patient guidelines, clinical trial accrual, prevention and early detection, cancer registry staff education, and cancer–related improvements.
Facilities receiving this approval award are evaluated to receive the Commission on Cancer Outstanding Achievement Award.
