High Point Regional Gets to The Heart of the Matter

High Point Regional Health System is hosting a community event, “The Heart of the Matter: The Connection Between Diabetes and Heart Disease.”

Participants will have the rare opportunity to hear and learn from one of the industry’s leading experts, Dr. Thomas O’Connell. He is a diabetes specialist and assistant professor of medicine (Endocrine Division) at UNC-Chapel Hill.

The agenda for this community event includes: learning how physical activity helps everything (not just your blood sugar), learning the facts about diabetes and the opportunity to visit exhibits to learn about products that help those living with diabetes.

In the afternoon, a number of small group sessions will be offered on topics such as: ask the dietitian, stress management, weight loss surgery and keeping your feet healthy.

The cost is $20, which includes lunch. The dress is casual.

Saturday, February 21, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
