Community Health Screenings Move to Thomasville
A free Saturday event for the entire family is scheduled for the new Thomasville Medical Plaza on August 26 with everything from health screenings to a chance to pet a llama.
Sponsored by High Point Regional Health System, the events begin at 10:00 am with a ribbon cutting for the plaza with a chance to visit the new facility at 711 National Highway. The free health screenings continue until 2 pm. There will also be music and opportunities for live interviews with WEOM-FM radio.
Screenings include blood pressure, cholesterol and glucose tests, testing for diabetes, arthritis, and spinal/posture screening. There will be opportunities to ask a doc your medical questions and to ask a pharmacist your medication questions. Many other informational health displays are planned as well.
Children of all ages will love seeing the bunnies, goats, and llamas at the petting zoo, so be sure to bring a camera to remember the day. For questions about available screenings, call the Contact Center at 336/878-6888.
