Brian Seely Named Director of Patient Safety at High Point Medical Center
High Point Medical Center has named Brian Seely, RN, MSN as Director of Patient Safety, Regulatory and Accreditation. In this role, he will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating High Point Medical Center’s patient safety initiatives, daily safety operations as well as ensuring continuous accreditation readiness.
Seely joined High Point Medical Center in 1998 as a staff nurse and unit coordinator. In 2004, he transitioned to working as a Clinical Quality Analyst abstracting core measures. In 2008,Seely began work as a Green Belt in the System Excellence department going on to earn his Black Belt from NC State University.
Seely holds an associate degree in nursing from the University of Vermont, a bachelor of arts in psychology from the State University of New York and a master of science in nursing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
“Brian has demonstrated exceptional skills in facilitation, leading teams, process improvement, root cause analysis and staff engagement throughout his career at High Point Medical Center,” said Kathy Ritch, Senior Director, Quality and Operational Excellence. “Most recently, he has accomplished outstanding work as our hospital’s facilitator for the System Sepsis Initiative, which has resulted in significant documented improvements. We are very fortunate to have him leading our patient safety efforts.”
