All Faiths Chapel Dedication
2/12/2003
The High Point Regional Hospital All Faiths Chapel was dedicated Feb. 14, 2003. The chapel is located on the first floor of hospital (off Visitor’s Entrance)next to Soda Shoppe and is open 24 hours a day.
The renovation represents the hospital’s heightened awareness of religious diversity and creation of a space for patients, families, friends, and employees more conducive to meditation and prayer.
New items in chapel include a fountain, reupholstered chairs, religious icons (including a mezuzah on the chapel doorpost) and non-traditional religious symbols on the walls, soft music through the speakers, a stained-glass window, and a piano (in a new location).
Cost of renovation donated by High Point churches to support the ministry of Pastoral Care. Original chapel donated by the Adams –Millis Company in honor of the company’s employees when current hospital building was completed in 1986.
